Hi Metalheadzbe greeted. I report a bit from our current jubilee shows, we’re playing at the moment. As there are only a few selected dates, certainly some of you, who could not manage to drive to the next venue, are interested, what’s going on on tour. First off all we like to say thanks for your faith, without you, the band wouldn’t exist so long. Also thanks to all, who helped us on our way, specially our webmaster Joe, who helped us a lot in context of analyzing your suggestions regarding the actual set list. Whereby we are in-between the subject: We’ve asked you, sending us your wishes and ideas, and you’ve participated numerously, so we could make out a “Super Best” set list for the shows in your sense. Certainly, a huge numerous of songs have been aggregated during the 25 years, logically, not every special wish could be taken into account. We’re playing almost 3 hours, more isn’t possible at some point. Particularly, if you consider, that Victor & Andrè additionally epitomizing Mind Odyssey as our special guests, playing once more 45 min., so both came up to easily 50 numbers, they have to remember per evening, that really takes it out of you. Again, we are supported by Jen Majura, who’s chipping in the second guitar and the backing vox at the accoustic set (+ selling our merch, radiating good mood inclusively) and technically by our boys: Sascha at the backline, Jürgen at light and pyro and Gerd at the sound. 07.03.09 - 1. ANNIVERSARY SHOW - OBERHAUSEN - DOberhausen/Turbinenhalle.... Today, Brainstorm are present furthermore, the fans getting real value for their money, accordingly, they came numerously. The atmosphere is optimally from beginning, logically, we're playing "at home", many attendants we know since years. Mind Odyssey starts with full power, it's their first gig since about 10 years, for Andrè, being temporary drummer, the first time anyway. Mario, the singer, is slightly nervous, certainly causelessly, as the guys are a crowd-pleaser, and after this first show everybody is easy going and happy. After that, Brainstorm have best conditions, playing a versed set. Then, our crew rebuilds the stage for our accoustic set, it's getting placid. |

That, we haven't done since years, so we are surprised all the more, because the songs going down well at the fans! From the first up to the last note, everything is clapped and singing along noisily. Jen's backing vox fits perfect to my voice, giving the material a special colour. At "Straight To Hell", the cottage is boiling. Then, quickly rebuilding the stage, ready for harder notes. In our regularly set we start with "Higher Than The Sky" and "Don't Fear The Winter", proceeding to "War Of Worlds", no eye remains dry. One classic enqueues into the next, and we also illuminate our history extensively, starting at the early works up to the works out of the early nineties, our highlights from our orchestra phase and certainly all hits from the last 10 years, since Victor is present, by the way, also a jubilee! Our pyro show fireing up the fans and us even more, and accordingly, we leave the stage at 0.30 a.m. exhausted. Everybody gave everything, it was really a great party, unforgettable, thanks to all who were there. |

13.03.09 - 2. ANNIVERSARY SHOW - ASCHAFFENBURG - DAschaffenburg/Colos-Saal.... Today, it's getting even more harder for Victor & Andrè, as they don't have any brake. The club is packed and the air accordingly hot and humid, best conditions for a sweat orgy. We're already leaking out during the accoustic set. Fat snigger we get for announcing our medley out of 2 songs from the Welcome album, "Deep In The Night" und "After The End", which Jen dubbing into "Deep In The After" consequently. I'm bubbling something about rewriting the lyrics, it's about our current political landscape, anyway, everybody is screaming... The metallic part of the show mutated to a sauna, absolutely. Anyhow, we're alltogether celebrating a super time with a super sound. After the show we quickly went into our hotel, as we have to start early in the morning for Switzerland. |

14.03.09 - 3. ANNIVERSARY SHOW - PRATTELN - CHPratteln/Z7.... We start early in the morning, as we need some time for the soundcheck. Unfortunately we loose some time at the border. Although Switzerland has sign the Schengen agreement and controlling at the border should be history officially, we have to stop, showing all our stuff. Fortunately, the frontiersman have a understanding at the end, and they let us go. And fortunately, everything went like clockwork in Z7, so we can built up the stage stressless, and doing the soundcheck. The stage again looking great and Jürgen fireing us up perfectly. The Z7 is packed and all those present in best mood. Mind Odyssey play their hitherto best set, going down well. To mark the occasion of our 25th anniversay, cheffe Norbert did it in style, distributing champagne on stage and at the first rows to the audience, when we enter the stage for our accoustic set. Spontaniously, the fans singing a fat birthday serenade, enjoying songs, they haven't heard for long time. |

A highlight: "All This Time" with Victor on cello(!), which he played masterfully. He's starting studying cello in the age of 5 years already(!), by the way, this cello is an old family heirloom from my family, surviving 2 world wars already! Again, our metalset is turning out to be absoloutely sweat-inducing, at the end of the 3 hours show, my trouser is wet up to my knees (bääähhh), however, we give everything, not sparing oneself or thr material. Admirably, how Andrè stands that, though he had a torn muscle at his right leg... Tuckered out and happy, champing at the bit for the last song, Norbert again entered the stage, handing us over a special present: as we already played 17 times in Z7 during the 14 years of its existence, Norbert declares us to be part of the inventary, getting the pass key of the Z7! Wow, what an act of faith, now, we can raiding in any time in the middle of the night, plundering the bar...hihihi. At the end, we play the Soundchaser with fat sing along part, crawling away on our nipples... |

21.03.09 - 4. ANNIVERSARY SHOW - MADRID - EMadrid/Sala Heineken.... In bad, cold rainy weather we start our flight from Düsseldorf airport in the morning, landing in warm, spanisch spring of Madrid in the afternoon. High spirits comes up immediately, and I'm using the time walking through the capital, while our crew building up the stage. Meanwhile, we are well-rehearsed, so the soundcheck runs up without any problem. In a well packed club we enter the stage later on, starting with our accoustic set. The spanisch fans are renowned for their hot-blooded temperament, and they give their best at this evening, we are accompanied from the first to the last ton by "Oleole" chantings, "Laola" waves and vociferous choirs, even the guitar solies from Victor are singing along by the fans! Unfortunately, we couldn't play "All this time" tonight, as we couldn't get our cello into the airplane, but apart from that, all songs are played and it's getting a red-letter evening, celebrating our band history together with the fans. Surely, we carry on at our hotel after the show, so you can see some funny faces stumbling into the airplane next morning, back into the home coldness.... |

17.04.09 - 5. ANNIVERSARY SHOW - WÖRGL - AWörgl/Komma.... As we're travelling by bus, we already starting at night. Such a night on the highway is realy wearing us out, so we first slumping into our hotel beds after our arrival in beautiful Tirol area, having no eye left for the fascinating Alp panoramas. At the afternoon, we're fit agin, building up our set easy-going. We are happy to see our buddy Micha Hirzy again, he's organizer of these 2 Austrian shows. He and his missis (madam, kiss your hand) providing us with everything commendably, and so there's nothing to block a relaxing a funny show at the evening. |

18.04.09 - 6. ANNIVERSARY SHOW - VIENNA - AVienna/Szene.... Nach dem Frühstück gehts dann bei schönstem Kaiserwetter Richtung Österreichischer Hauptstadt. Die Szene kennen wir ja schon von einigen vorherigen Gastspielen und daher gehts sogar noch entspannter zu als am Vortag. Jen freundet sich sogleich mit dem Hund der Local Crew an und so ist der kleine stets am Merch Stand präsent, was ihm später auch noch das eine oder andere Schnitzel vom Catering einbringt. Victor hatte die Zeit vor der Show genutzt, um den "Hot Rod Hangar" von Knud Tiroch zu besuchen. Knud Tiroch ist einer der größten Autotuner, spezialisiert auf Hot Rods und Musclecars, zudem ist er als Künstler für u.a. das Design des Red Bull Formel1 Autos zuständig gewesen. Ein eventuell gemeinsames Projekt eines "Ragemobils" auf der Basis eines 50er Chevy's wurde besprochen. Nicht nur Knud Tiroch, sondern auch diverse alte Wiener Bekannte stellten sich ein, z.B. einige Jungs von Deadsoul Tribe und überhaupt wird's ein lustiger Abend mit einem Publikum, das wirklich gut drauf ist und mit uns unsere Songs feiert, dass es eine Pracht ist. Gutgelaunt vertilgen wir noch das eine oder andere Ottakringer Bierchen bevor dann Zapfenstreich ist... |
